End of lease cleaning checklist
Before you pay for a re-clean or argue over a bond deduction, it helps to know what a solid inspection-ready clean actually looks like.
Kitchen
- Wipe cupboards, fronts, and handles
- Clean splashback and benchtops
- Degrease stovetop and accessible rangehood surfaces
- Empty and wipe the oven if included in your agreement
Bathroom
- Remove soap build-up from shower glass and tiles
- Clean vanity, tapware, and mirrors
- Disinfect toilet inside and out
- Check grout, vents, and corners for overlooked dust
Living areas and bedrooms
- Dust skirting boards, switches, and door frames
- Vacuum floors and wardrobe tracks
- Spot-clean walls where marks are obvious
- Wipe inside wardrobes and shelves
Final pass
Open windows, turn lights on, and walk room by room with your phone torch. That last scan often catches the details that create avoidable follow-up complaints.
